Early Keyboard Concerto Series

This series endeavours to increase awareness of the treasure trove of keyboard concertos written by early classical composers by making available piano reductions and eventually performance material (score and parts) of various concertos by early masters.

Our piano reductions are often the first available reductions of early classical concertos, and make them available for teaching, private study, rehearsals, leisurely music making and performance. In spite of their many excellent qualities, pianists, teachers, and students have largely overlooked early classical concertos. Perhaps, this is because most of these works have until now, never been available in a reduction for two pianos. Some of them are only available in prohibitively expensive and impractical full scores of Collected Works editions. In some of these, the music is printed from scores transcribed by hand, making the scores difficult to sight-read.
This series opened with the publication of the first published piano reduction of three Mozart Piano Concertos, K.107. Works by J. C. Bach, C .P. E. Bach and J. C. F. Bach are coming soon!

These works are perfectly suitable for performance on the modern piano, as well as the harpsichord and early fortepiano. They are indispensable to younger pianists and those who wish to follow the development of the piano concerto from the earliest examples in the genre to the great masterworks of classical repertoire.

About our piano reductions:
The guiding principle in the making of these orchestral reductions is to achieve a balance between an easily readable and comfortable, yet detailed accompaniment.

The solo piano part is an URTEXT (unedited text, given as it appears in primary sources).

Although some awkward page turns are unavoidable, special care has been taken in the preparations of all our editions in the distribution of the text to facilitate page turns.
